Solid start for Dowel in Rally South Australia

 Justin Dowel and Matt Lee have put in an impressive performance in the lead up to this weekend’s Rally South Australia.
Driving their Activ RallySport Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX, the pair were third fastest in practice for today’s Pedders “No Bull” Top 10 shootout.
However, on the final timed run, the car suffered a niggling fuel pump
problem which slowed them and saw them finish in 10th place.
“It’s disappointing because we showed good pace,” Dowel said. “But
we’re fortunate that the fuel pump issue occurred today, rather than in
the rally proper tomorrow.
“We had a great test session on Wednesday, and we head into the final round of the championship with plenty of confidence.”
Dowel and Lee are hoping to maintain their fourth place in this year’s Australian Rally Championship.
