Activ RallySport have made their rivals in the Australian Rally
Championship sit up and take notice after Justin Dowel and Matt Lee
finished third outright in Heat 2 of the Rally of Canberra today.
Driving their Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX, the Victorian pair backed up
their fourth place from Heat 1 and finished the weekend fourth overall
– missing a podium placing by just seven seconds.

Heat 1 of the Rally of Canberra in a brilliant fourth place.

conditions around the nation’s capital city.

eighth in the first round of the Australian Rally Championship, despite
a weekend that saw them suffer two gearbox failures.
Rally Tasmania was Dowel and Lee’s first taste of tarmac rally action,
and they performed impressively on a surface that they admitted was not
as enjoyable as the gravel they regularly compete on.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX of Justin Dowel and Matt Lee on day two of
Rally Tasmania.
After a brilliant opening day, which entailed just two timed stages,
the Victorian pair started day two in fine and sunny conditions, eager
to improve on their eighth place.
