Welcome to the home of Activ RallySport - 2011 Bosch Australian Rally Champions
Activ RallySport are one of Australia's highest profile rally teams, with a string of event and championship successes to their name - culminating with victory in the 2011 Bosch Australian Rally Championship.
2011 has been their most successful season to date, with Justin Dowel and Matt Lee taking a ground-breaking debut victory in the South Australian round of the Bosch Australian Rally Championship.
The result has confirmed their status as the leading team in the 2011 ARC, but like most rally drivers, Dowel had to work his way to the top of the sport.
He started his rallying in a Datsun 1600, competing in novice and
club level rallies, before progressing to a more powerful and
competitive Mazda RX7.
2011 Bosch Australian Rally Champions (ARC), Justin Dowel and Matt Lee, will not defend their national title in 2012, and will instead focus on developing a new car for the 2013 championship season.
With the ARC switching to a two-wheel drive championship this year, the Activ RallySport pairing have made the tough decision to take most of the year off, rather than rushing in to a title defence in a new and unproven car.
Victorians Justin Dowel and Matt Lee have won the 2011 Bosch Australian Rally Championship after securing the title after a hard-fought battle over the final event, Rally Victoria, this weekend.
Driving their Activ RallySport Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX, Dowel needed to finish the event two places ahead of his Queensland rival, Ryan Smart, and managed that convincingly after the Toyota driver suffered driveshaft failure late in the event.
The Activ RallySport Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX of Justin Dowel and Matt Lee are third after the opening day of Rally Victoria, the final round of the 2011 Bosch Australian Rally Championship.
With only a three-point gap to series leader Ryan Smart, the Victorians need to finish ahead of their main rival to clinch their first national championship.
The 2011 Bosch Australian Rally Championship comes down to the wire at this weekend’s final round, with Activ RallySport driver, Justin Dowel, ready for an all-or-nothing assault on Rally Victoria.
With just three points separating Dowel and series leader, Ryan Smart, there’s all to play for, with both drivers eyeing off their first national title.
