 Activ RallySport have been involved in the sport of car rallying for over 15 years, with significant success throughout that time.
Like most club rallyists, the team started off in a Datsun 1600, competing in novice and club level rallying before progressing to a more powerful and competitive Mazda RX7.
As the skills of team driver, Justin Dowel, progressed, he joined co-driver Matt Lee, and the progression was made to outright contention in a 4WD turbo Toyota Celica GT4, achieving top five results and a state level class championship.
Further updates into an ex-Asia-Pacific class winning Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 6.5, and later an Evolution IX, saw instant success with the team winning three consecutive Victorian Rally Championships in the following years.

Rally Qld on ONE HD this weekend

 The Activ RallySport team of Justin Dowel and Matt Lee will feature in this weekend’s coverage of Rally Queensland.
The program from round four of the 2009 Australian Rally Championship will screen on Channel 10’s ONE HD digital channel twice this weekend.

New in-car action added to Activ RallySport website

 The Activ RallySport team of Justin Dowel and Matt Lee are currently enjoying their most successful season in the Australian Rally Championship.
After four of the six rounds, the pair currently lie fourth in the title race, despite retiring from the second heat in Western Australia after a nasty accident left their Lancer Evo IX badly damaged.

Great result for Dowel in Rally Queensland
|
 Justin Dowel and Matt Lee have finished sixth in Heat 2 of Rally
Queensland after another strong performance which netted them fifth
place overall in round four of the Australian Rally Championship.
Over the seven stages and 114 competitive kilometres of Heat 2, the
Activ RallySport Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX took three top five stage
times, ensuring they retained their fifth place in the national
championship.

Solid sixth for Dowel in Heat 1 of Rally Queensland
|
 Justin Dowel and Matt Lee have driven the Activ RallySport Mitsubishi
Lancer Evo IX to a solid sixth place in Heat 1 of Rally Queensland,
held on the Sunshine Coast today.
The Victorian pair dropped over two minutes on the final stage of the
day with rear brake problems, but still maintained their sixth place
after seven hard-fought stages.
